On our last full day in New York, we took a trip down to One World Trade Center and Ground Zero. It is a very powerful place, and being there in person really leaves a mark on you. I remember that day and will probably never forget where I was as it happened and never forget watching the images on TV.
The memorial is very well done and the new tower is beautiful. It is a very peaceful place to sit and reflect, and remember. One of the most powerful things for me was seeing the names of first responders; fire house after fire house, agency after agency that lost men and women trying to save others.
One of the newly constructed building is the Oculus, the Path train station. Very modern style and you can get a glimpse of One World Trade through the "slit" in the ceiling.
